The oil has been steam distilled from the roots of Angelica
Glauca.
Uses and Advance
Studies:
The oil is also
useful in high-grade perfumes, to which it imparts peculiar musk
like
notes which are hard to identify. The oil of Angelica is
employed in high grade liqueurs of French type, such as Benedictine
and chartreuse blends etc.
Gin essences, too contain a considerable
portion of Angelica oil.
The root oil is stimulant, diuretic,
diaphoretic, carminative and emmenagogue. The oil is good cordial
and stimulant ; in flatulence and dyspepsia.
